Why averages instead of raw daily steps? Because the ladder has to be fair. A casual walker hitting 6,000 a day every day beats a marathoner who walks 25,000 once a week. Consistency wins.

GFN doesn't spawn cities — people do. A city is "live" only when someone in it has redeemed an invite code from someone in another live city. That redeemer is the city's founder, and they keep that title forever.
The first 20 people in any new city become its founding members — credentials that show up on their profile no matter where they end up next. Move to a different city, lose your spot? Doesn't matter. You were there at zero.
Cities below 20 members don't compete on the city-vs-city board yet. They keep building. The day your 20th member joins, your city shows up on the global map.

Beyond friends and cities, GFN clubs let you organize sub-leagues — your run crew, your office, your high-school class. Public clubs are discoverable; private clubs are invite-only. Each club has its own internal leaderboard, feed, and activities.
Clubs can run timed challenges (cumulative steps, daily targets, streaks, distance, active minutes). Hit the target and the goal completion auto-posts to the feed. The whole club sees it.
